March 2026 - Installation of a neutron radiography beamline neared completion, with planned capabilities for both thermal and experimental fast neutron imaging. Nucleon Power is also open to collaborative proposals from academic institutions.
January 2026 - Nucleon Power expanded its laboratory space in Oak Ridge, Tennessee by approximately 50%, creating additional capacity for diagnostics, beamlines, shielding, and the control room.
April 2025 - Gemini (Gen-3) completed a long-duration irradiation of a new bulk amorphous metal alloy, setting a Nucleon Power record for neutron flux and other key performance metrics.
March 2025 - At the MARC XIII conference, Nucleon Power presented a poster titled Diamond Detector with Novel Contacts for Neutron Spectroscopy. Detectors fabricated with scCVD diamond were paired with the company’s high-performance nucleonics to provide additional diagnostics for Gemini, its high-flux fusion neutron source.
September 2024 - Nucleon Power has been awarded an SBIR Phase I grant from the National Science Foundation for a project titled Hyper-Compact Neutron Generator for Advanced Detection
The first workshop on Additive Manufacturing and Advanced Materials in Fusion (AM2F) was held at MIT's Plasma Science and Fusion Center (PSFC) on May 6-8, 2024. Nucleon Power presented neutron irradiation capabilities for material testing with a talk titled A High-Flux DT Fusion Neutron Source for Achieving the Goals of FIRST (Fusion IrRadiation Simulation & Testing).
Nucleon Power attended the 29th IAEA Fusion Energy Conference in London, UK the week of October 16, 2023, and presented a poster titled Experimental Evaluation of Unstructured Grid Neutron Transport Code.
Three Engineering Interns from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville Join Nucleon Power for the Summer of 2023
Nucleon Power was founded by Amanda Ison in 2022.
“We at Nucleon Power believe there is no better day than today.
That’s why our team of engineers and scientists passionately pursue immediate solutions for an ever-increasing array of critical issues that threaten our tomorrow. Our technology leverages the process at the heart of every star, nuclear fusion, and provides a new paradigm for materials research, medicine, security, and renewable energy.”
